Don’t say you’re English
From the Queen’s Royal Lancer’s Website:
Goodbye to my England, So long my old friend
Your days are numbered, being brought to an end
To be Scottish, Irish or Welsh that’s fine
But don’t say you’re English, that’s way out of line. (read more…)
Around the UK many councils will be having a local election today 1st May 2008. I’m not sure how well UKIP will do in these boroughs and I suspect the success will depend very much on the size of the team of volunteers and how well they have marketed their candidate but whatever the results please take time to look at the UKIP Local Manifesto 2008, www.ukip.org/ukip/
The Local manifesto is good covering Local Taxation, Immigration and much more. I’m going to pick out three points that I like the sound of or not as is the third point. (read more…)
Congratulations to Trevor Shonk who, on the 28th April 2008, become the prospective candidate for UKIP Thanet South after a close fought election.
(To the tune of The Clash’s “London’s Burning”)
Thanet’s burning
What have we done?
Is it really true?
That the police are so dumb
Investigating crime
Is a thing of the past
The burning train,
It won’t be the last
What have we done?
What have we done?
Thanet’s burning
It’s up in smoke
The Thanet Council
Is just a joke
They go out for dinners,
Dressed up in gold
A quick handshake
And more land’s been sold
What have they done?
What have they done?
Thanet’s burning
And who pays the cost
The insurance companies
Say they’re at a loss
The connection to business
Cannot be proved
Up goes insurance
And we again lose
What can be done?
What can be done?
Thanet’s burning
And Dreamland has gone
The pavilion is closing
We haven’t got long
Some say it’s Jimmy
Some say it’s God
And some say we’re going
To the dogs
We’ve all been done
We’ve all been done
Yes, we’ve all been done!
Congratulations to John Moore of Thanet North on becoming a parish councillor for Herne and Broomfield.

Notice of Hustings meeting on the 28th April 2008 7pm
At 158 King St Ramsgate.
Time to elect your candidate for Thanet South. It’s your choice come and vote and decide who will represent you in the next general election.
I expect most people in Thanet are aware that the Pavilion building, formally a casino, on Ramsgate seafront is currently not in use. Would this not be a fantastic location for an Ice Rink?
I am aware that the building is in a poor state of repair as mentioned in this weeks Adscene; I too believe it to be the responsiblity of the previous users to put it back in order.
But the people in Thanet are crying out for entertainment, we are supposed to be a tourist area, lets give the youth some alternatives to football!
Please if you have an opinion let me hear from you.
