THANET’S BURNING

(To the tune of The Clash’s “London’s Burning”)

Thanet’s burning
What have we done?
Is it really true?
That the police are so dumb
Investigating crime
Is a thing of the past
The burning train,
It won’t be the last

What have we done?
What have we done?

Thanet’s burning
It’s up in smoke
The Thanet Council
Is just a joke
They go out for dinners,
Dressed up in gold
A quick handshake
And more land’s been sold

What have they done?
What have they done?

Thanet’s burning
And who pays the cost
The insurance companies
Say they’re at a loss
The connection to business
Cannot be proved
Up goes insurance
And we again lose

What can be done?
What can be done?

Thanet’s burning
And Dreamland has gone
The pavilion is closing
We haven’t got long
Some say it’s Jimmy
Some say it’s God
And some say we’re going
To the dogs

We’ve all been done
We’ve all been done

Yes, we’ve all been done!
