Christmas Wishes

As next week is Christmas Day UKIP Thanet would like to wish everybody a Peaceful, Joyful, Happy Christmas.

We especially remember all our Doctors and Nurses who work so hard caring for others, many working on Christmas day.
We remember are British Serviceman who protect the innocent in remote parts of the world and will be missing there families and friends.
We remember all our pensioners who have worked so hard over the years. Many will have fought in world wars so this country can be free.
We give a thought to all the employees of Woolworth’s whom have worked so hard only to see their directors bringing the company to an end. As the worker goes off to face the doll queue will the Directors take another big pay off and move on to another company to destroy?
We give thanks to all our Teachers and the Teacher Assistants and all who work in the field of education because the children are the future caretakers of the planet.
Lets give thanks to the environmentalist who fight for the survival of the flora and fauna.
And Green Peace who battle against the corrupt the selfish and the polluter.
Lets us remember our good neighbours who will always give a helping hand to others irrespective of gender race or position.
Let us all give thanks for all the good in this country and world we live in and lets us all be strong in protecting the good in this world.

God bless to all our readers and have a really good merry Christmas.

Preconceptions

I was talking to a lady the other day, who asked me where I am off too and I replied to the UKIP Office for a committee meeting. She looked at me in horror and said my Roger (made up name) doesn’t like that sort of thing. (read more…)

Windssve Investigated

Hello All

You Should be aware that UKIP will pursue nuclear power as a solution to the impending lights off UK wide when our power consumption becomes larger than our ability to supply. Current estimates 2015/2016ish. You should be aware that I Trevor Cooper am against Nuclear in principle. However here are some facts.
1. On a which investigation into Windsave turbine carried out on trial house, the turbine, which cost less than £2000, actually cost money to run apparently the reason was given that average wind speeds in the area under test were too low. So my belief in turbines on the roof in fact are not yet a viable solution. I still believe than can be but industry are not prepared to hand over power to the people and are therefore obstructing free energy development.
2. An extract from the Telegraph web site:
The construction industry failed miserably to deliver power plant on time and budget. Design changes bedevilled projects with Dungeness B taking the booby prize for the most disastrous. Engineers ended their careers on a plant that started in 1965, was completed in 1983 and struggled to make its first contribution to the electricity market in 1985.
Botched decisions on nuclear waste disposal and the frightening cost of de-commissioning (£72bn at the last count) have left nuclear power under a cloud while mismanagement, market pressures and the complications of electricity pricing mechanisms meant the taxpayer had to save British Energy from bankruptcy three years ago at a cost of £3bn. writen May 2007.
So my fears that Industrial incompetence will lead to disaster for this country are not unfounded. T

Margate Dream

We all know that the council has had a consultation about Margate’s Dreamland and the Arlington shopping arcade. We know that there will be housing on part of the dreamland car park and that housing has been knocked down for the relief road. I’m not saying anything new that the people of Thanet will be able to change. All I want to do is share a few ideas with people and see what you think. (read more…)

Turner Sky

Firstly this is not another go at the giant eyesore that is intended to be built in Margate temping though it is. No I just want to share with you the evening I spent at Walpole Bay this Wednesday and make a couple of comparisons.
Firstly The weather was perfect hot with a light breeze providing sufficient relief from the heat. The sea was very still and most of the earlier crowds had departed. You may have already guessed what I am intending to speak about. The sky was beautiful watching the changing light in the clouds off the coast as it changed from various shades of red and orange was a privilege. When we got home we discovered a programme on telly looking at a sunset off the Greek island of Santorino. Hundreds of people were there just watching the sun go down. I promise you Margate’s sunset was better. The clouds in the sky although few had formed majestic patterns that looked like a sheet of ice that had been danced on by an ice skater then covered in a thin wash of red and orange paint.
Santorino though is a beautiful place. During my own visit there this year I particularly remember a gentleman picking up the rubbish that tourist and locals had left on the beach which he placed neatly on a hard standing off the beach. My comparison here is that I too picked up five carrier bags of rubbish left by our tourist and locals. This included nappies lots of plastic bottles and crisp packets. Much of this polution would have endeed up in our seas. Our schools are trying hard to educate the next generation to respect our environment, yet many of Thanets parents are happy polluting. This is our planet look after it, love it, save it, protect it and give our children parents to be proud of.
