Laws are important to keep necessary control over the corrupt, selfish and outright dishonest. But we have now passed more laws since 1980 than we did since the signing of the Magna Carta.
So I challenge all of you to tell me what laws that have recently been introduced are crazy and please tell us why.
I will start you off. Please comment.
Mobile phones; I totally agree that if someone uses a hand-held mobile while driving then there is a potential for an accident and it is a good law, but where it fails is this. If a man or women pulls over somewhere safe to receive a call and have applied their handbrake and their engine is in neutral, then they are safe and should not be prosecuted. If the law thinks that the car may accidently go into gear, accidently release the handbrake, and then that the person in the car is so stupid that they are unaware of any movement then I suggest they are probably in the world of Harry Potter and the car is an old Ford Anglia.
