TEN PEOPLE I ADMIRE IN POLITICS AND WHY

Gary Allen (Author Of Non Dare Call It Conspiracy)
A businessman called Paul in Cliftonville brought may attention to him. The book is a record of how the love and money has been able to destroy people lives and how many politicians are puppets to the moneylenders. Politicians will go to war if there is financial gain to be made. The truth is very scary.

John Bird
(Founder The Big Issue)
I admire John bird because most of his businesses have been social businesses. That is they were set up to help people, with most of the profits going back into social support work. He also urges people to be involved with politics. Big Issue No.737.

Robin Cook
(Labour) deceased.
Former cabinet minister and Commons leader he quit his cabinet post in March 2003, in protest over the war in Iraq. I would like to see more MPS stand for what they believe and not tow party line. Loyalty to the party is not as important as loyalty to the country and truth.

Nigel Farage Leader of The UK Independence Party
I did consider leaving Nigel out in case it was considered creeping. But leaving him out could also be misconstrued. Nigel is a great speaker and along with other influences is one of the reasons I am standing for local council and believe in the UKIP cause.

Sir James Goldsmith
(Referendum Party)
Sir James first came to may attention in about 1990 during a Channel 4 programme called option for change His book The Trap is one of the influences towards my political thinking. A great man, who died before his time.

Andrew Neil (Presenter of This Week & Newspaper Editor)
As well as ability to present news fact I became a fan when he shot down in flames a Lib Dem MP on BBC Question Time when the discussion talked about human need.

Alan Simpson (Labour)
Alan Simpson received the distinction of being the first rebel MP to be formally reprimanded by the Labour chief whip. Anti Nuclear, Anti War, he is one of the most rebellious MPs in the current UK Parliament — only three have voted against their party line more often.

Richard Suchorzewski former UK Independence Party member.
I expect the party line is not to mention a man that has moved on but that’s not I. I found leadership campaign excellent. It had clear policies and excellent presentation. His resignation was a disappointment but polite wishing Nigel and his team good luck.

Sir Teddy Taylor (Conservative)
I first listened to Sir Teddy during the 1st Gulf War and liked what he had to say. It was balanced and well thought out and again honest. On Europe he was opposed to the signing of the treaty of Rome and he for withdrawal from the European union.

Ann Widdecombe (Conservative)
MP for Maidstone, Kent, Ann is a Tory the Nation can trust. In today’s political arena it is great to listen to a speaker who is honest and blunt. She once said about Michael Howard “there is something of the night about him”; I wonder what she has to say about David Cameron.
